In our house we have been trained to pay Enzo what we call the “Puppy Tax”. What this means is that every time we cook something, a small part of it goes to Enzo. For example, if I make a turkey sandwich Enzo would get a small piece of the turkey. At this morning’s meeting he told me that he has been auditing his records and was showing that we owed quite a bit in back taxes. Enzo was also trying to make the case that the rate was much too low and in fact should be 1/3. He said that traditionally it is based on the number of members in a pack and not based on weight or any other arbitrary measure. Nice try Enzo!
Squirrel Hunter
Enzo and I have been spending way too much time watching other Italian Greyhounds in YouTube videos. He thought it was about time that we gave it a try and uploaded a video of him this morning. You can find it here: http://youtu.be/8AhRe-e-s3g
Super Bowl
Monday is here again and Enzo is depressed as usual that the work week has started again. It does not help things around here that he is still upset at me for not having a Super Bowl party. He told me Super Bowl Sunday means that all dogs are supposed to get a large bowl that is filed over the top with their favorite food. I think he was trying to play me for a fool! Please let me know if that is how you do it at your house.
Those Eyes
Enzo and I just had a big chicken lunch and he is feeling pretty good right now. Look at those eyes sparkle! We watched the video of Bello dancing and he thought it was pretty funny, even though the poor dog must have felt humiliated.
Top Down
Enzo is resting this morning and dreaming of a new coat. If you have some time to kill, this video is likely what he is dreaming about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cx5PMMo-WJs
Meeting (Sunny Side Up)
This week’s meeting was much better than last. Enzo thought it was about time to start planning a corporate retreat in the sun. That sounded great to me and I was all in! I did not have the heart to tell him that he still needed a business and some money first. There can’t be much harm in taking some time out to think about the good life, especially when you are a dog.
Daffodils
Karma wanted Enzo to have some fresh flowers while she went to a conference. It helps to keep his mood up, but you can tell he is still sad about her being away.
Cure for the Monday Blues
As you know, on Mondays Enzo usually lays depressed under a blanket all day. This week I decided to give him an iPod and tell him that it is the iPhone he had been asking for. He found this animation of a kitten on the internet and has been watching it all morning. It sure has cheered him up!
Earthquake
Last night we had a small earthquake that centered near Anacortes. Enzo was convinced that the squirrel population had something to do with it! All morning he has been keeping a keen eye on the trees outside for any extra activity.
The Vet
Sorry I am late getting the email out today. We just got back from Enzo’s first Vet appointment since he has been with us. Besides a little ear infection, he was given a clean bill of health from the Doctor. He is in perfect shape for his breed!
